American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

Yorba Linda/Placentia - Region 1398

What's Happens Now?

Immediately following the last registration date, the board begins the process of finding volunteers. AYSO is a 100% volunteer organization. There will be a MANDATORY Parent meeting for ALL parents, new or returning, at the Yorba Linda Community Center.
We will begin seeking out volunteer coaches, referees and team parents. Division coordinators then begin the process of balancing players into cities, and gather evaluations.

Once this is completed, identified coaches must obtain age appropriate training and certifications. Numbers of teams are decided upon, uniforms are ordered and fields are planned for city permits

For questions about your child's team or games, your first point of contact should be your coach and/or team parent, followed by the appropriate division coordinator.  Please contact them first.

For questions about registration and how to sign up to play, please contact us at [email protected].

To request a refund, see the information on our Refunds page.  Contact our Regional Treasurer at [email protected] with questions.

When will the players be contacted?

Coaches will contact their players immediately following the Coaches Meeting. The Board has requested all coaches to contact their teams on, or before August 13th. See our Events Calendar for updated Information Fall or Spring.

When the coach contacts the players they will have the appropriate information with regards to practice fields, days and times. Remember, because of the amount of effort the coach has invested in AYSO, the coach will pick the practice day and time.

The Coach Contact Date has Passed and My Child Has Not Been Called. What Do I Do?
If your child has not been contacted by the Coach Contact date, please send an email to your Age Division Coordinator, so your concern may be immediately addressed with the appropriate action.

Practices will begin the week of August 14, 2022
Opening Ceremony is scheduled September 9, 2022
Games are scheduled to begin September 10, 2022.
Picture Day will be September 24, 2022.

When do the coaches get their teams?

Coaches will need to complete their Volunteer application form online as well as a background check through Verified Volunteers.. Then they attend a Coach's Mandatory Meeting hosted by our Regional Coach Admin. Here they will learn about our AYSO Philosophies, Important dates, and information regarding their Age Division and Region 1398 for the current season.

At the close of this meeting Coaches will have the opportunity to meet with their Age Division Coordinators and ask questions, request practice day and time convenient for them.

Coaches will then receive their Player Emergency Forms and Team Roster.

Coaches are encouraged to host an Introduction with their team as soon as possible to obtain an Assistant Coach and Team Parent. Once you have these names, emails, and phone numbers forward their information to your division coordinator.

*See our Events Calendar for the current seasons dates and when coaches should be contacting players by.
** If you are interested in volunteering to coach, please contact your Age Division Coordinator. Their emails are listed on the About link, under Regional Board.
*** See the Volunteers tab for more information on Volunteering to Coach.

Email your Age Division Coordinator if you have any questions or need assistance during the season.

How Often are Practices & Games?

U10 and up will practice twice/week, while U5 - U8 will practice only once a week. Each U5-U10 practice is only for 60 minutes, and U12 and up are 90 minutes.

U5 - U8 will play games on Saturday, with U10 and up will play games on Friday nights, and/or all day Saturday (nights, included).

Practice locations are based on city permits and residency of our teams.

Our Volunteer Coaches may suggest 2 days and times that they are available for practice with their teams. Our Field Coordinator will take these into consideration as we are scheduling to the best of our ability for each team and according to their Age Division and Daylight Savings. As permits may change as does the lighting, please remember AYSO is a 100% Volunteer Organization.
