AYSO Region 1398 is committed to creating a safe, positive, and respectful soccer environment for every player.
These expectations apply to all players, coaches, parents, spectators, and volunteers at all games, practices, camps, and region events.

KID ZONE
π Keep It Positive
AYSO is a Kid Zone Program.
Please do:
- Cheer for effort
- Encourage players
- Support the team
- Respect coaches and referees
Please do not:
- Yell instructions from the sideline
- Criticize players
- Argue with referees
- Make negative comments toward anyone
π¬ If itβs not positive, donβt say it.

SAFE SPORT & PLAYER SAFETY
π‘οΈ Zero Compromise
Player safety is our top priority.
Region 1398 follows AYSO and SafeSport-aligned standards, including:
- Background-checked and trained volunteers
- Open and observable environments
- No isolated one-on-one situations with players
- Appropriate adult/player interactions
- Immediate reporting of unsafe behavior or concerns
β οΈ If something feels unsafe, speak up.

RESPECT THE REFEREES
π§ββοΈ No Referees = No Games
Our referees are trained volunteers. Many are parents, teens, and community members giving their time so our kids can play.
Not allowed:
- Yelling at referees
- Arguing calls
- Confronting referees before, during, or after games
- Referee abuse of any kind
Questions should go through coaches at the appropriate time.

GAME DAY SAFE ZONE
π§ Keep the Field Safe
To keep games organized and safe:
- Coaches and players stay in designated team areas
- Spectators stay on the opposite sideline when possible
- No spectators behind goals
- Younger siblings must stay off the field
- Please give players, coaches, and referees room to work
π£ NO PETS ON SCHOOL FIELDS
π« School District Rule
Many of our fields are located on school district property.
- No dogs or pets allowed at games or practices on school fields
- Service animals are permitted
- Families must follow school district field-use rules
This helps protect our permits and our relationship with our school partners.
π΄ FIELD SETUP & CLEANUP
π οΈ Everyone Helps
AYSO is a volunteer-run organization. Field setup and cleanup are part of making the season work.
Teams may be asked to help with:
- Goals
- Nets
- Corner flags
- Equipment
- Trash cleanup
ποΈ Leave the field better than you found it.
π‘οΈ WEATHER & FIELD CLOSURES
βοΈπ§οΈ Safety Decisions Are Final
Practices, games, camps, or events may be canceled due to:
- Heat
- Poor air quality
- Rain or unsafe field conditions
- School district closures
- City or permit restrictions
Region 1398 follows safety guidance and field-use requirements when making closure decisions.
β οΈ If fields are closed, they are closed.
π§ PLAYER WELFARE
π° Come Prepared
Players should arrive ready to participate safely.
Please bring:
- Water
- Shin guards
- Proper soccer shoes
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- A positive attitude
Coaches may pause or stop activities at any time for hydration, injury concerns, unsafe behavior, or field conditions.
π΄ ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
π« No Abuse. No Harassment. No Intimidation.
AYSO Region 1398 will not tolerate abusive or unsafe behavior toward:
- Players
- Referees
- Coaches
- Volunteers
- Opposing teams
- Families
This includes yelling, threats, intimidation, harassment, insults, or aggressive behavior.
Failure to follow these expectations may result in:
- A sideline warning
- Removal from the field area
- Further action under AYSO policies
