Fall 2026 Age Group Update

Beginning with the 2026–2027 soccer year, youth soccer organizations, including AYSO, are moving from calendar-year age groups to a school-year age group model.

This means players will be grouped using a September 1 through August 31 date range instead of January 1 through December 31.

Why the Change?

The goal is simple: keep more kids playing with their classmates and school friends.

This change helps reduce confusion, supports player development, and keeps soccer aligned more closely with the school year.

What Parents Should Know

Your child’s division may look different than in previous seasons because of the new school-year age grouping.

If you do not see the correct program during registration, scroll toward the bottom of the registration page and click “More Programs.” Some available programs may be hidden until that option is selected.
